Legion Equity uses a Soho House-style access model for GPs. To apply, you need invitations from two separate existing members. This creates exclusivity and ensures quality through referral pressure.
This article covers the full onboarding flow, what you'll need, and how long to expect the process to take.
Onboarding steps
Receive 2 invitations from separate existing members
Apply through the platform
KYB (Know Your Business): business entity verification, including entity documentation and principal identification
506(d) Bad Actor questionnaire: SEC regulatory requirement confirming no disqualifying events (felonies, SEC disciplinary orders, etc.) for the fund lead and covered persons
Background check: verification of identity and professional history
Fund Lead Agreement: contract specifying roles, responsibilities, and terms
Legion verification: reviewed and approved by the Legion team
Onboarding complete: you can now create deals on the platform
What you'll need
Business entity documentation
Principal identification (government ID for key individuals)
Regulatory history responses for the Bad Actor questionnaire
Any relevant fund documentation
How long it takes
1-2 weeks for full GP onboarding, including KYB, the Bad Actor questionnaire, and admin verification.
Why the two-invitation requirement?
The model exists to maintain quality on both sides of the platform. LPs investing through Legion want confidence that the GPs bringing deals have been vetted by people the platform already trusts. Existing members have an incentive to refer carefully, since referral quality is part of how reputation is built on the platform.
I have a strong deal pipeline but don't know any existing members. What now?
Reach out to us directly through chat. If you have a strong pipeline and credible track record, the team can review your situation. The two-invitation rule is the standard path; exceptions are evaluated case by case.
After onboarding
Once approved, you can:
Create deals and have Legion form the SPV (Delaware LP) for each
Set deal terms (carry, management fees, minimum investment, etc.)
Review LP applications and approve who joins your deal
Approve or deny secondary trades for your LPs
For deal mechanics, see Understanding SPVs and Capital calls: what to expect.
