Troubleshooting wire deposits

What to do if your wire hasn't arrived or hasn't been confirmed

Deposits on Legion Equity are matched manually using your reference code. If something's off with the code or the destination account, matching gets delayed. This article walks through what to check and when to escalate.

First: we never change wire instructions by email

Legion will never email or message you new or updated wire instructions. Wire details for a capital call live in one place: your capital call instructions inside the platform.

If you receive an email, text, or message claiming our bank details have changed — even one that looks like it's from Legion or your GP — do not send funds. Log in at uselegion.com, check the instructions in your capital call, and confirm with us via chat before wiring anything. Fraudulent "updated wire instructions" are the most common way investors lose money, and wires are very hard to reverse.

If you already sent funds based on emailed instructions, contact us via chat immediately.

Next, check these two things

Did you send to the right account?

Funds should go to the SPV's bank account, the one in your capital call instructions. If you sent to a different account, reach out immediately via chat. The team needs to know right away so they can help recover the funds.

Did you include your reference code?

Every LP gets a unique reference code per capital call. Without it, the team can't match your deposit automatically.

If you forgot it or used the wrong one, that's likely causing the delay. Reach out via chat with:

  • The amount you sent

  • The date of transfer

  • The reference code you used (or didn't)

  • Which bank you sent from

If both of those are correct

If the destination account and reference code are both correct and you're still waiting, gather these details so the team can trace the wire:

  • Amount you sent

  • Date of transfer

  • Reference code used

  • Originating bank

  • Any confirmation or reference number from your bank

Deposit matching is currently a manual process, so there can be a gap between your wire arriving and getting confirmation. If you've checked everything above and it's still unresolved, reach out via chat and the team will look into it.

Situations that need immediate attention

For these, contact us right away, no need to troubleshoot further:

  • You received new or changed wire instructions by email or text — possible wire fraud

  • You sent funds to the wrong account

  • You see unauthorized activity on your account

  • The capital call deadline has passed and your deposit still isn't confirmed

Why is matching manual?

For the current MVP, the team manually matches deposits to investors using reference codes. This adds a small delay but ensures every deposit is verified against the correct LP and capital call.

Automated matching via reference codes is planned for the future, which will reduce the time between wire arrival and confirmation.

What about USDC deposits?

The same principle applies: include your reference code with the transfer (typically as a memo or note), and the team will match it to your account. USDC is converted to USD before being deployed into the deal.
